The main online poker operator GGPoker recently obtained a license to deploy its product in the Belgian regulated market, news emerged this week.
The company is expected to launch its GGPoker.be site in the country on July 31, it has also become known.
GGPoker.be will be operated by Deba Square, an online gaming company licensed by the Belgian Gaming Commission. In addition, the poker operator will collaborate with the local poker company Conceptual Kiosk, which runs poker clubs and events across Belgium.
GGPoker’s partnership with Concept Booth will see the latter bring the former’s product to the local market through various initiatives.
The recently secured license will allow Belgian players to register on the GGPoker.be site from July 31 and thus participate in poker games on the GGPoker network. It should also be noted that the upcoming launch of the new online poker site will offer Belgian fans of the game the possibility to win a gold bracelet of the World Series of Poker in this year’s WSOP Online Series.
Those who register on the site will also be able to qualify for the WSOP Main Event later this year from the comfort of their home in their home country.
The WSOP and GGPoker teamed up for the first time in spring 2020 when casinos in the United States were closed due to the coronavirus outbreak. The partnership has resulted in several WSOP-branded online poker festivals hosted by GGPoker since then and long-term plans for future events.
Happy to live in an underserved market
Commenting on their launch in Belgium, GGPoker Europe Manager Marco Trucco said they were happy to “Bring our poker and innovation to the underserved Belgian market.
He further noted that their partnership with a local business run by experienced poker event planners is a manifestation of how they like to make the GGPoker brand relevant and successful in a new market – i.e. in âBond with authentic people and communities who share our passion for poker. “

He also expressed confidence that GGPoker’s debut in Belgium will help the local poker industry to become “stronger and more attractive” like a “safe and controlled player environment, premium user experience and local integration will be the strong points “ of the most recent market entry.
